Seattle, Wash./ Changwon, Republic of Korea (April 15, 2024) – Greater Seattle Partners and CTNS Co., Ltd. today announced that the clean energy secondary battery innovation startup is expanding its manufacturing operations to Seattle, Washington.
CTNS is a leading battery-pack startup in Korea. Utilizing its proprietary smart manufacturing and battery management system, it has successfully completed over 500 High Mix Low Volume projects totaling $30 million since 2017.
The company manufactures customized rechargeable battery packs for small and medium-sized e-mobility, camping/leisure, service robots, and logistics robots, among many others, enabling clients to access next-generation secondary batteries with high energy density and stability. It has successfully been enforcing its business footprint in Korea by raising Series-A round funding from the venture capitals and building partnerships with key players including Pablo Air in air mobility.

GSP first engaged CTNS in 2023 as part of SelectUSA program and has since extensively toured the region across King, Pierce and Snohomish County engaging with the Clean Energy Test Beds at the University of Washington, K-Startup Center, Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA), Washington Maritime Blue, and the Washington State Department of Commerce. CTNS will also participate in the Greater Seattle Export Accelerator Cohort 2 program.
With the recently signed contract to supply EV battery pack production facilities and initial production volume worth more than $10 million with Aptera Motors, a ‘first-of-its-kind’ solar electric vehicle maker, CTNS aims not only to successfully complete the first phase of the project, but also to sign a mass production contract by 2025. Upon achieving this goal, orders are expected to reach $100 million annually.
CTNS will initially be located in the K-Startup Center in downtown Seattle. Development plans include growing its North American HQ in the Greater Seattle region and opening a manufacturing center.
